Your initial appointment will take approximately one hour. You can expect a thorough examination and needed diagnostic films (x-rays). If you have current films in another office, it would be helpful to have them at this appointment to avoid possible duplication of services that then may not be covered by your insurance. If your films are digital you may request to have them sent to our office at [email protected] (Most offices require transfer requests in writing, so plan accordingly).
At this appointment, your dentist will gather information necessary to assess your overall dental history and current oral health. Any necessary preventive (cleaning) visits and/or restorative appointments may be scheduled at this time.
If your dental needs are more complex, your dentist may recommend a treatment conference at which your dental conditions will be explained, as well as outline your treatment options, and help you make an informed decision as to how to achieve optimal dental/cosmetic health. One of our business staff will be in attendance to answer any insurance or financial questions you may have.
Please assist us by completing the forms found on this website before your initial appointment or providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Any current x-rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance card for our records (we request you have your card with you at every appointment in case there are any coverage issues).
All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
